How do I cancel a representation through the citizenship portal?

At any time, both the person who grants the power of attorney (attorney) and the person who receives it (representative) can cancel the power of attorney.

In the case of the power of attorney, from the "Consultation and Management" tab, you can search for the representations in which you are registered as a power of attorney and deregister them, while revoking them.

In the case of the representative, from the "Home" screen, you can search for all the representations in which it is counted as:

  • Empowering, while revoking them
  • Representing, while renouncing it
How can a representation be accepted?

When representations are created without attached documentation, they remain in “Pending acceptance” status:

  • If it has been created by the power of attorney (who grants the power of attorney), it must be accepted by the representative (who receives the power of attorney and will act on behalf of the power of attorney).
  • If it has been created by the representative (who receives the powers and will act on behalf of the principal), they must be accepted by the principal (who grants the powers).

Therefore, requests for representation without attached documentation are always pending acceptance by the other party, the one that did not make the request.

This other party, which must accept the representation, can do so in two ways:

  • In person: going to any user administration of the Representa service where a public worker can manage your request.
  • Electronically: through the citizenship portal of the Representa service.

In this second case, the person must access the citizenship portal, authenticating with the valid mechanisms to do so and from the "Home" tab search for those representations listed as "Pending acceptance"

If you access the details of the same, these will appear with the status "Pending acceptance" and by pressing the "Accept" button, these will remain in the "Valid" state, all taking effect from that moment.

Does the representative need to give explicit consent?

It depends on the case.

In the event that the registration has attached documentation to be validated, it is not necessary. Once the registration is registered, it will be validated or denied by a public worker with the role of validator and depending on this it will remain valid, already in effect, or denied. This is so because it is understood that already in a previous act the representative has consented to this representation.

In the event that the registration does not contain attached documentation to be validated, it will be necessary for the other party (the person who did not make the request) to accept it explicitly.

If the person who registers the representation is the one who grants the powers and informs of the e-mail of who will be the representative person, an email will be sent informing him of the appointment with a brief explanation of this circumstance and with the information in order to accept -the. If the representative is not interested, he can resign from the appointment.

If it's the other way around, it works the same. If the person registering the representation is the representative and no documentation is attached, the representation will also be created pending acceptance. If the e-mail address of the authorized person is reported, an e-mail will be sent informing him of the appointment with a brief explanation of this circumstance and the information to accept it. If the power of attorney is not interested, he can waive the representation.

In the same sense, you can register or unsubscribe from the notices at any time.

How do I modify a representation?
A created representation can no longer be modified. What you can do is cancel it and create a new one. The data of the interested persons can also be modified .
How do I consult the representations I have?

To consult the representations you have, once you have accessed the portal, on the home page, under your data, "My representations" appear, the list of people with whom you have representations either as a person granting powers of attorney or who receives it If you click on it, you can see its contents.

What emails does the platform send?

The Representa service, if the e-mail is informed when making the representation and the sending of communications from the person giving the power of attorney (power of attorney) and the person receiving the power of attorney (representative) is authorized, sends an e-mail whenever a state change is made in the representation.

This way, an email is sent each time:

  • high (indicates whether the representation is in "Pending Acceptance" or Pending Validation")
  • revocation
  • resignation
  • validation of a representation pending validation (indicates that it has been registered)
  • denial of a representation pending validation
  • acceptance of a representation pending acceptance (indicates that it has been registered)
  • cancellation of a representation (performed by the administration, when an error is detected in the same or when 40 days have passed since the request for representation and this has not been accepted by the representative)

And in the event that a representation expires:

  • notice of expiration 1 month before
  • notice of expiration in 1 week
  • expiry

When a representation is pending acceptance, an email is sent:

  • notice pending acceptance 1 week later
  • notice pending acceptance 1 month later
